Lord Vishnu, the protector and his consort goddess Maha Lakshmi, goddess of wealth known as Dewi Sri in Bali, are much-celebrated deities among Hindus in Bali. Dewi Sri is hailed as the primordial goddess of Rice and is believed to shower blessing upon their land with fertility and prosperity. The costume designs of Vishnu and Dewi Sri have adapted from the original traditional Balinese Dance costumes and were developed to suit the counterpart’s aesthetics of Bharatanatyam dance costumes used in the production. The greenish gold brocade Material with botanic floral designs brings the concept of fertility, wealth and prosperity. The waist belt and crown of Dewi Sri were designed to incorporate the original rice grains.
